A sports safety seminar took place in Sacramento over the weekend, where doctors, coaches, Athletic Trainers, and schools met to make sure no more lives are lost during a high school practice or competition.

Experts say California is failing its youth when it comes to safety, and they’re calling for big changes.

The initiative Team up For Sports Safety will continue to press state lawmakers to implement policies to reduce sports-related deaths in California, such as Licensing Certified Athletic Trainers.
