Suzy Ghattas
Biography:
Suzy is originally from Whittier California. Suzy attended UCLA and earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from UCLA (2008). Suzy then went on to earn her master’s degree in Athletic Training from Texas Tech University Health Science Center (2015).
Suzy started her Athletic Training career at South Plains Community College where she served as both Athletic Trainer and Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Women’s Basketball team in Levelland Texas (2015-2017). Then Suzy relocated back to California where she served as the Head Athletic Trainer for California Lutheran High School in Wildomar, CA, and worked at FedEx as an industrial Athletic Trainer at the LA International airport hub (2017-2018). Suzy then took a position at McLane High School (Fresno, CA) as Head Athletic Trainer, where she still resides now (2018 - Present). Suzy has built a Sports Medicine program that continues to offer opportunities to students and community members in the McLane region. She created paid internships for high school and college students, collaborated with CTE programs, and worked with local healthcare partners to provide educational opportunities for her students. In 2021, Suzy received a promotion and became the Assistant Athletic Director in addition to her other duties at McLane HS.
Suzy also works within the Fresno community to bolster access to health care, increase education health, and promote healthcare initiatives. Suzy is a massive sports fan; she supports the Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia Eagles. Suzy is a proud “Fur-Mom.” to her Siberian Husky Zoey, who enjoys deep-sea fishing, traveling around the world, BBQ-ing, and smoking meat!
