With schools closed to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus, hundreds of thousands of student-athletes are left without a regular exercise routine. The California Athletic Trainers’ Association (CATA) offers tips below as well as a series of videos to keep athletes on the right track while out of schools and sports. Brittany Peterson, San Diego Loyal Soccer Club head athletic trainer and certified athletic trainer at Olympus Movement Performance, created a series of five videos to demonstrate various movements and exercises – all to be easily completed at home. Athletes can use a chair, the wall and even their own body weight to complete these workouts.
