With schools and athletic training facilities closed, it’s more important than ever for athletic trainers to stay connected with their athletes and students.
“As athletic trainers, the most important thing to do right now is to stay in touch with athletes,” said Brittany Peterson, San Diego Loyal head athletic trainer. “For many athletes, their outlet is their sport, and they’re adapting to an abrupt change without it. We’re fortunate to have virtual ways to be able to check on them, send at-home workout ideas and even create video challenges for teams using drills, juggling and other skills.”
KUSI Sports interviewed Brittany Peterson about creating at-home workout videos for high school student-athletes to maintain strength and prevent injuries in the upcoming season while sheltering in place. KUSI Sports has more.
